Product recallsIf a product is defective or unsafe, or likely to cause damage or injury in any way, it should be recalled as soon as possible. If a consumer suffers serious injury from such products, suppliers can be liable under the product liability provisions of the Trade Practices Act 1974 or under common law. Unsafe products are usually recalled from the marketplace by the supplier.
