	Visa Entitlement Verification Online Thursday 22 January 2009 To assist visa holders and organisations understand worker entitlements, The Department of Immigration and Citizenship has launched Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO), a visa checking service available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. VEVO allows registered Australian organisations to check a person's Australian immigration status, as well as lodge a visa online and check the status of an application on behalf of a worker. Check your organisation's eligibility and register for the service at the Immigration website. Further information is available on the VEVO website. Alternatively, visa holders can phone 13 18 81 while employers can contact the employer's immigration hotline on 1800 040 070 during business hours.
